Shalom welcomes NRL stars

February 22, 2021

Shalom Christian College students were all smiles when a number of rugby league stars visited the school last week.

Ahead of their NRL Indigenous All Stars match in Townsville, players including Benji Marshall (South Sydney Rabbitohs) and David Fifita (Gold Coast Titans) visited our school to speak with the children about health, wellbeing and resilience.

The following night a number of students and Shalom Christian College chaplain Andy enjoyed an evening of footy and a celebration of Indigenous culture at the All Stars game played at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

The NRL Indigenous All Stars is an annual pre-season game played between teams of Indigenous Australian and Aotearoa (New Zealand) Māori rugby league players.
