It’s all been happening at Carinity Education Rockhampton – in and out of the classroom!
Fourteen of our Year 9 and 10 students – accompanied by four staff members – attended Carnarvon Gorge camp with students from our City Country Partnerships twin school, Wadja Wadja.
The students were provided with a unique opportunity to attend an Australian landmark with so much cultural significance, and to see sights that can only be accessed along walking trails.
From the bush to the ocean, Carinity students were lucky enough to travel to Great Keppel Island for some snorkelling and exploring of the Great Southern Barrier Reef.
Students have been engaging enthusiastically across a range of school subjects. This includes Social and Community Studies, in which Year 11 students have been learning about wellbeing, resilience, and making informed choices to support both mental and physical health.
Our Certificate II in Workplace Skills program has focused on workplace health and safety, as well as developing and applying effective communication skills. These are essential tools that
will support students as they transition into employment, training, or further education.
Students have also enjoyed dabbling in Forensic Science, gaining hands-on experience and sparking curiosity through investigative activities.
Beyond the classroom, students have participated in weekly Friday activities and showed great house spirit at the Interhouse cross country and swimming carnivals.
