Shalom students dancing up a storm

Carinity Education Shalom dancers

This year Carinity Education Shalom students have been clocking up the kilometres showcasing their cultural dance skills across the country.

In April, eight of our students – Brendan, Ashley, Rosella, Andrew, Ezekiel, Arthur, Hezekiah and Tyeesha – travelled to Sydney with a team from Shalom Family Church and Yarrabah to attend Soul Survivor NSW.

The five-day youth conference assists young people to grow in faith and leadership, lead workshops, share culture, and serve in community projects.

Shalom students Ashley, Andrew, Arthur and Veronica danced at the Palm Island Spring Festival in September.

A group of primary and secondary students were honoured to share cultural dance at Heatley State School as part of its recent NAIDOC Assembly.

The Shalom dancers shared their culture through amazing dances which included Heatley students.

Our dancers have also performed at numerous events at our own school this year, including NAIDOC celebrations and the official dedication ceremony for our new secondary campus buildings.
