Glendyne students get a taste of skateboarding culture.
This term saw the completion of the refurbishment of our ‘new’ mini ramp, and the commencement of skateboarding as an elective for our Friday afternoon ‘Personal Best’ program.
Students were actively involved in stripping, reassembling, and re-surfacing the ramp, learning skills as they did so.
The purpose of the ramp is to provide a safe and supportive space for students to learn to skate and to try new tricks. Skateboarding is the newest Olympic sport, and will feature at the Tokyo 2021 games. With Brisbane tipped to host the games in 2032, students have plenty of time to hone their skills.
