Carinity Education Glendyne students have been given the opportunity to share their views with one of the region’s prominent politicians.
Fraser Coast Mayor, George Seymour, visited the school to speak with some students about their ideas for the future of the Fraser Coast.
Glendyne School Captain, Zalia, said students discussed several issues of importance to young people with Cr Seymour, who has been Fraser Coast Mayor for seven years.
“Topics students raised were their ideas of what can be improved in the areas such as more activities for the youth, e-scooters and safety, road safety, and advocating for homeless in our area,” Zalia said.
“Students shared their ideas for waterparks, areas for skidding, inflatable parks, and other putt putt ideas.
“Other discussions were about work opportunities including work experience and volunteering.”
The Mayor also answered the students’ questions about different levels of government and civic affairs.
“It was a great time of sharing with Mayor Seymour, gaining more insight into our local area. We look forward to further opportunities in the future,” Zalia said.
