A Carinity Education Gladstone student has started on her pathway towards a rewarding career in the health service industry.
Mercedes has accepted a Queensland Health Traineeship at the Gladstone Hospital, attending work placement one day a week including in the Maternity department of the hospital.
The traineeship is part of the Connect ‘n’ Grow, a Townsville-based Registered Training Organisation delivering Health and Community Service training to secondary school students throughout Australia.
Mercedes completed her Certificate II in Health Support Services at school last year, while undertaking her Year 11 studies.
She now has the opportunity to continue further study through a Certificate III course.
