Carinity Education Gladstone students on their senior camp

It’s all been happening at Carinity Education Gladstone – in and out of the classroom!

Year 11 and 12 students headed to Maranatha Recreation Camp in Gympie for an unforgettable Leadership Camp. Over three days the students took on adventures such as archery, high ropes, giant swing, catapults, creek exploration, and a range of group initiative challenges.

Some of the proudest moments came from seeing students who were unsure of challenges step up and give it a go. Watching courage grow, confidence rise and smiles spread made the experience truly memorable for everyone.

Students formed meaningful friendships not only with each other, but also with staff, strengthening bonds across the group. It was clear our young people had gained valuable lessons in resilience, leadership and friendship.

In the classroom, Year 11 and 12 Science in Practice students have stepped into the role of forensic investigators, developing the practical skills needed to analyse evidence just like real-world crime scene experts.

Through a series of engaging, hands-on activities, students explored three key areas of forensic science: hair analysis, blood analysis, and fingerprint analysis.

Mathematics classrooms have been buzzing with real-world applications. Senior students applied their measurement skills in an exciting real-world context by designing a landscape plan for a new build in the Riverstone Rise development.

Essential Mathematics students from Year 11 explored the concepts of rates and ratios through practical problem-solving activities, while Year 10s focus on statistics and graphing. They learned how to collect, represent and interpret data – building skills not only relevant to their studies but also to everyday life and future pathways.
