Students hooked on books

Gladstone reading group

A group of Carinity Education Gladstone students are sharing the joy of reading with friends.

Every afternoon after school, a small number of students voluntarily stay back for reading lessons. The lessons are held in a supportive environment with lots of laughs and encouragement.

While everyone is at a different stage of their reading journey, they all work incredibly hard.

In recognition of their dedication and effort, students recently went on an excursion to the Gladstone Regional Library where they immersed themselves in quiet reading, particularly enjoying the Manga section.

This was followed by a stroll through East Shores to Auckland House, where the group indulged in a delicious lunch followed by freshly cooked cinnamon doughnuts.

Any students interested in joining the reading group, please see teacher Jacqy.
